The course:

This course takes a pro-active risk management approach to Health & Safety.  The course includes:

• Safety management systems, the role of risk assessment, legal requirements and the social environment
  
• Reactive monitoring, including which incidents have to be reported, production of reports, recording reported incidents, conducting investigations, recording results and analysing records
• Preparing and using active monitoring checklists, implementing schedules for active monitoring, recording results and analysing records

Managing Safely involves 4-days of tuition and exercises and a work-based project.  This course is assessed and moderated by The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and certificates are issued to successful candidates.

This course is aimed at staff who are required to manage safely and effectively in compliance with both their organisation's policy and best practice in health & safety.

As part of the course, candidates are required to complete a workplace based project to be completed in three weeks following their attendance on the course.
